Quick question: what is the typical nut width on a 6-string Roscoe?
2 11/64" or 55.16mm (they're hand shaped, so they vary slightly)

Isn't that the title to a Chicago song?![]()

I thought I had a Pee bass but realized I had only spilled beer on it. Now SteveC has a real Roscoe Pee bass, I actually peed on it before it left the factory. I could have peed on Jome77's bass as well but don't remember as Gard bought me a lot of beer at lunch that day and I don't remember much.
I've got Deep Talkin' Flats on a Synapse fretless.
OK - not a Roscoe, but a composite fingerboard just the same.
They're OK but IME, totally devoid of mwah.
I've got D'Addario nickel rounds (170...) on my Roscoe fretless, had FlexSteels for about a year but went back to the 'standard' string.
I think rounds on fretless is a match made in heaven, but it's your bass, your sound, do what you want.
(I had TIJF and D'Addario Half-Rounds on an ebony-fingerboard fretless for a while (pre-Roscoe) and they were fine but again, I couldn't eke any mwah. Maybe someone with better touch could.)
Yeah, she's probably right. I thought I could make a quick $1,000 and pay some debt. We have a large refund coming and I thought an extra bump would help that much more.
When I think about selling (I don't play it often) she always asks if I like to play it when I do use it. Of course the answer is yes. Probably the nicest bass I've owned fretted or fretless. Then she says if you like it, even if you don't play it much, just keep it. You always sell P's and 4's so a 4P is doomed from the start.
I will in a few weeks. Just sent Gard a set of EB Slinky flatwounds to string up my CS5+ fretless when it's done. I put a set on my P-bass a few weeks ago and I really like them. They seem to be the perfect balance of flatwound feel and roundwound sound. I've tried half-rounds on fretless before and didn't like them.No experience with tape wounds Crash. But I how about Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats.
I just tried a set of Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats on my fretted five. So far I'm happy with'em. A little higher tension than I'm used to. The B string has more sustain and the sound is more articulate than other flats I've tried.
I'm thinking of trying a set on my fretless. Anyone out there have any experience with these flats on a Roscoe fretless?
