Roscoe Club

Cool. I am really debating selling my 5 (I play my 6 way more) and getting a passive 4 string bass soon. The best ones I have played are the new *ender Professional and a more retro Reverend Decision. Curious about the design and specs of a Roscoe offering in this niche.

Definitely the awesomest looking F***er style headstock ever done.

Not sure about the logo yet, but I think that's just because it's not the normal Roscoe logo and it will take some time.

Hoping to see a Custom Classic really soon.

Very soon, keep an eye on our FB page, because I can't really do any promotion here (CUP timeouts suck), but I'm hoping to be posting a pile of info on The Real Roscoe Guitars Page (use the link in my sig) today and tomorrow, including photos as basses are finished up. :hyper: :bassist:

The logo is actually the "Roscoe" from Keith's actual signature (see the signature on all other Roscoe's), "spaghetti-fied" so it looks a bit more "vintage". I think it works beautifully to tie this model to the others we've built in the past.

A few other details that tie them to the rest of the "family" are the trussrod access (yes, it's single action) in the body is identical to all other Roscoe basses; and the area painted black in the Classic/Classic Custom headstock is cut with the exact same router bit we use to cut the "reveal" in Custom and Signature models.

I have to say, we haven't fully set one up yet, but I took the 4 string PJ and got it tuned to pitch - it is amazing. I can't wait to try one out after a full setup tomorrow! :D

Looks nice, Gard. Will there be a P or PJ using the P style control layout and pickguard?

Also, is Roscoe machining the body or getting it from a third party? That and any other details would be appreciated.

A P style setup is "in the works" for sometime in the next 10-12 months, but there are other things to consider before we can commit to that.

Every bit of this instrument, other than hardware and electronics, is cut, milled, shaped, sanded, and finished right here in the Roscoe shop by the same guys that build all the other basses you see from us - no "third party" work at any stage.

I think the Roscoe logo should be bigger, right in your face as to say, "We are Roscoe MFers where made in the USA means Made in the USA"! :D

I like the new Classic bass. It's a nice homage to "the godfather" of builders so to speak. Not sure about the headstock yet. It's nice. I think my favorite non-Fender Fender 4 string headstock is Sadowsky. I have never been a fan of the 4+1 headstock for a 5 string from anyone.

I think the Roscoe headstock (on their other basses) is the nicest - especially for 5 and 6 string instruments.

I have been waiting 10 years for a Roscoe JB. Though I started out my bass life on a Fender J bass and played one for years, I could never bring myself to buy one in the past 10 years (been playing Roscoe basses) but I have always wanted another J bass. I bought an SX bass for just over $100, had it PLEK'd at Roscoe and it plays better than any Fender I have played in Sam Ash or Guitar Center. I think Roscoe has nailed the price point on the new Classic series, Roscoe quality at a very reasonable price. I will own one of these!

The more I look at that Seafoam Classic Roscoe the more I love it. Everything about it is the total opposite of what I normally look for in a bass....yet I'm strangely drawn to it!
