Roscoe Club

I swung by Roscoe yesterday to pick up my very sweet playing and sounding Roscoe Classic Custom! I had the East J-Tone installed and I can't say enough about these preamps. In passive mode there is no coloration of the tone though it does come with extra capacitors so you can change the passive tone. In active, the passive tone works and with just a little boost to the bass knob and it just thicken up with a more modern tone.

Keith set it up, said it felt good to him then said but it will probably be too high for you. I had him lower the strings and he set them to the radius of the neck and hit it perfect. I am so stoked to have an awesome J Bass built by my favorite luthier. I think some of the other custom J Bass builders just got put on notice!

Wow Clint! That looks great!

I totally love the head stock with the side route left natural (in lieu of painting it black). That really gives it a classy look!

The only thing that I don't like about it is the feed thru bridge. Just to easy to scratch the finish feeding the strings thru (and taking them off). I'd have to change that out for a top load.

I hear you Chuck but I'm just to lazy to do that every time. On my Fenders I just replace the feed thru bridge with a Hip Shop Fender Type A. They even mount in the factory holes.

Yeah, the instant I saw that bridge, that ended my looking for the correct hardware for that model. Just too nice - keeps the whole vintage look from the front, but without that annoying pulling the string through the back of the bridge issue.
