Guilty as charged! Classic Custom, lake placid blue over dakota red, maple board with black blocks and binding, b/w/b pickguard. It'll look like a refin that's worn. I'm pretty stoked!

PJ for this, but they all have the option of switching over to JJ with just a touch of soldering.

When the 5 string Classics start getting in the hands of fellow TBers, I would appreciate some comparisons between the necks. Measurements and such can only go so far.

The neck is a C neck so it isn't going to feel like an SKB or LG but it is really comfy. The Classic 5 (3/4" spacing at bridge) I checked out at the shop two weeks ago had a sweet profile which I actually prefer over my SKB and LG. I know I just got my Classic Custom 4, but it wants a Classic 5 PJ sibling.

When the 5 string Classics start getting in the hands of fellow TBers, I would appreciate some comparisons between the necks. Measurements and such can only go so far.

Here's a quote in some comments I just got from James Cook after his first gig with a Classic - James has been playing Roscoe basses exclusively since 2012 on tour with Luke Bryan, so he does have a bit of a sample size for comparison

"The neck is wider but very thin and comfortable. It fits perfectly in my hand. I have always liked a little wider necks in general because I have large hands."

So, a bit wider, but overall very comfortable. This makes perfect sense, since the bridge is also a bit wider - .750"/19mm versus .708"/18.3mm. That's my take on them as well (the first couple were "chunky", but we have refined the shape since the prototyping was complete).

Any talk of adding an option in the "classic" series for laminated neck (same construction as on my Centuries) ?

That would really set it apart from the crowd.

Presently, no, we are sticking with the graphite-reinforced 1-piece maple necks for the Classic basses.

Classic 4JJ Serial #0033c Swamp Ash body, Satin Onyx finish, Aguilar 4J-HC pickups, Aguilar OBP-1 preamp w/active-passive switching & passive tone control, Maple neck, Maple fingerboard. The Onyx finish looks nice, not as nice as my Olympic White with Matching Headstock but the Onyx is nice.

Does anyone know of a really good and free recording software for Windows 10? I want to record my bass and the old software I have doesn't work with Windows 10.

I took my Classic to Sam Ash for some show and tell yesterday. The bass garnered some attention, especially the matching headstock. Keith really set the action low on my bass and that resounded with players. I had the bass plugged into an Ampeg PF50T Portaflex Bass amp head with an Ampeg 15 cabinet like the one below. The amp is only 50 watts but it puts out some impressive tone.

My little Roscoe Clinic was going really good for about 45 minutes until some younger guy who evidently thinks louder is better came in and started beating a bass to death through a Trace Elliot amp and 4-10 combo. I have heard some young guys come in and bang out some Flea or Primus which sounded great but whatever this guy was doing had no musical characteristics that I could decipher. Anyway, the Roscoe Classic went over really well.
