Roscoe Club

Now I don't care for the "classic" or "J' basses,

But now that you mention a "P" bass Roscoe! Now your starting to talk, that I can accept.

But more importantly, where are the headless fretless Roscoes?!

I will be getting one. I know your making them Roscoe.

You better start.

And I'm going to buy one.

Oh, and they better work with LaBella Super steps taper wound.

Haha. :smug:

;)

Emphasis on 'cheap' pls... If I can make the trip, it will be with SKB 6 fretless and SKB 7 fretted. Are you guys set for amps?

Based on past experience (this will be my 3rd trip), you need not worry about amplification - other than for protecting your hearing.

If all goes well, I will show up with a Trickfish Bullhead 1K and a pair of their 112's....it's a shop amp, but I've been borrowing it for gigs recently, and it RULES. :bassist:

I was just at their shop and tried their Big Blade pickups. Man....those are so incredible. Those would bark for sure.
I recently helped a friend fit some Big Blades to his Callowhill and they are, indeed, very funky! Plenty of bark, bite and clarity in the mids, without being harsh. I guess something like the Big Singles idea, but taken a bit further... They also sounded fairly close to the drop-shoulder Bartolini pickups in my pre-Gib Tobias, which are much better, IMO, than the later Bart pickups.

Yes!@$% That's what I'm talking about. It's the future. It will fly on planes and I will never ever, ever, have a Gate Agent tell me again, "you're gonna have to check that sir".

Now I just need one that's 35-inch, 5-string Headless Fret-less. I will be in touch (probably in February as I'll be back from giging out in Australia.)

Wish I could go to the Bass Get Together you guys are planning. Maybe the next one!

Well, you could always go with something like:

...best of both worlds - a 5 string P, with a Roscoe B.

Hey @Gard,

Gorsh. I'm agnostic about the relic'ing, but either way this is a gorgeous instrument. I'd love to get a Standard PJ5 active, but with a different (Nordstrand 3-band) preamp and a P body.

What's the likelyhood of getting something like that in the near future? How much might it run?

As Gard stated we usually have quite a few to play through. This time around we'll have several different Berg cab's, maybe a couple Genzlers cab's, a couple new Berg heads, a Thunderfunk, a Mark Bass (or 2), a Genzler and Genz-Benz (or 2). Feel free to bring something though. Especially if it's something that you think the TB'er will enjoy checking out.
