The knobs look cool, but a bit lighter-colored than the top wood. Not sure if that bothers you. I would leave it as is.. I'm a sucker for black hardware and I think the knobs, along with the bridge, pickups and tuners really tie the whole thing together. What does everyone think of these knobs and how they match my Roscoe bass?
I just got my Custom Roscoe Century in and it looks brand new. The guy I purchased from had 3 Custom Roscoes and he said he never played any of them out of his house. Best build I've ever seen on any bass and the finish is flawless. The Charcoal Black burst is gorgeous in person. Just playing the bass unplugged right now at work the strings seem to resonate amazingly. Why didn't you guys tell me about these basses earlier lol.

Can you buy a couple more? I'm living vicariously through you right now 'cause I'm done for a while. A headless, fretless 6-string would be great for your next one. Nice. Those cover a lot of musical ground.

And the sofa looks comfortable too!![]()
One of the biggest thing I love about my Roscoes is the Plek job they done on both. The setup and action is absolute perfect and the neck is amazing. The fit and finish on both the oil and the Clear coat finish is perfect. The fretwork is perfect and nothing was needed. I've had 2 Warrior basses that had their poly finish and both come to me new with several flaws in the finish. It's refreshing to get something that exceeds what you pay for it.
I have had 8 Roscoe basses. 5 and 6, fretted and fretless, Custom and Standard Plus. Each one has been flawless. Well, there have been "flaws" as far as blemishes and such in the wood, but it's wood and I love that. What impresses me most has been the way I have been treated. My first build. My last build. I have been treated as though I am somebody. I'm not a big name artist/endorser. I'm not even in a touring band. I wasn't even in a band. I was treated and given options that made me feel like I was. A small imperfection in one of the bodies that was noticed after the bass was basically done and I was offered options from leaving it, covering it, or putting a replacement bass at the front of the line. That is service. I choose to leave it (they new I probably would from past builds) but being given the options like that was amazing.
I like that the "budget line" models are made in the same shop, on the same machines and but the same people as the Custom and Signature basses. My Standard Plus neck was hand fit to the body, just like a Signature. The "veneer" top is as beautiful as on a carved bass - IMHO. I think Keith even did the fret work on my current bass. I don't know that theres a better "bang for the buck" than a new Standard or a used Custom/Signature. Find a used Standard Plus and you are getting a hell of a deal on an American made bass.
