Thanks for asking . . . the SKB P/J is great. Build quality (of course) is exceptional, and it's a beautiful instrument.
The Aguilar electronics definitely have a "modern" high end/treble . . . it has the OBP-1 preamp (allows you to boost treble and bass, but doesn't have an overall gain / volume boost in the circuit), so it took a bit of getting used to, esp. since the output level from the pre isn't as hot as my other go-to active basses. I'll typically add a little bit of bass eq on the pre, and dial in the highs based on how much "zing" I want to cut through (typically not much).
I've had that one for about 1.5 yrs now, and it has the ability to dial in a more traditional P/J vibe, and it's flexible enough to dial in the funk on the fly . . . kinda cool, IMHO.
I had a Roscoe 5PJ bass same setup and electronics and it was a great bass. I didn’t think I would like that Preamp but it was quite versatile with the tone knob built in the circuit.
I'm in!With all this mixed emotions over what we want our basses to really sound like and how much better we'd sound if only the bass was a P or J or P/J or J/P or H or H/H or H/P or H/J or CB or A/E/I/O/U, I'm going to have a GTG at my place and we can all just come together, with whatever you have been blessed with, and just have us a great time fishing and eating and drinking and playing our basses, and having us a good ole time AFTER we finish building the 3 x 30 ft stone retaining wall I need built to replace the old railroad ties!!! Who is down with me??

It started out with the reverse P as a sort of hybrid bass combining the simplicity of a P with the design of a modern and compact bass.
Had it for about a year before I finally came to the conclusion that after playing for 15 years that I'm just not a "P" guy.
I much prefer the sound of a passive humbucker in the mid posistion. I was originally thinking about having it routed for an HB and then having a pickguard made for it to cover up the excess routing left from the P pickup. I decided against this as I wanted to maintain the guardless look.
So I contacted Gard (before he left, obviously) and asked about the cost of making a new body with a different pickup. He said sure and gave me a price. I sent him a check, a pickup (Bartolini T4CBC) and the schaller bridge I had in my parts box. A few months later (took some extra time due to it being during the NAMM madness) I got a "new" bass that fits me much better than before.
Both the Buckeye and the Koa Gloss, the two against the railing, have pretty much the same woods and same voice. I installed different strings on the Koa Gloss to give it a slightly richer sound.

It's certainly not your typical Roscoe.
That's what I like mostly about them, that they don't look like a typical Roscoe. I like that simplicity look about them.
Of course, I wouldn't be putting any pressure on you to sell because I'm a 5'er.

I bet the Roscoes with the Nordstrand DC pickups sound killer? My favorite pickups by far.
