Roscoe Club

I know that it sounds serious Ray but an asymmetrical condition can usually be cured with proper diet and a really good psychologists! ;) :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

:laugh: @JOME77, you are too funny!!! You need to just quit your day job, send those Roscoe basses to Shane to be disbursed, and hit the comedy trail!!

UPDATE: Roscoe Demeter BEQP-1 - The replacement pots arrived. I installed the new blend pot. Same blend balance issue. :( Sending the preamp back to Demeter! :rollno:

Not a good time to ask me what I think about Demeter bass preamps!!! IJS

There is a lot to be said about that combination! Two Sundays ago I played my Roscoe LG Bartolini. Yesterday I played my Roscoe LG Koa w/Demeter.
I posted a couple weeks back about the comment my wife made about the sound of the bass I used two Sundays ago.
Well, I asked her yesterday how did the bass sound. She said, 'it wasn't the bass used two Sundays ago, was it? That bass sounded better!'

I went back to D'Addario 170's with a .130 B string and it sounded like a Roscoe again. Maybe need to add that into the Roscoe equation...Bart/Bart/D'Addario's.

Well, now the ice gets a little thin for skating. Sunbeams get high marks as does La Bella N5D, and let's not forget about TI Jazz Flats!

@Nightman

I’m starting to see why Keith didn’t want to use Demeter anymore. Good sounding Preamp but they have a lot of issues seems like.

Well, I can certainly understand Keith's stance based on my limited experience. I'm holding on to the Bartolini preamp that came out of the Roscoe just in case I'm not happy with what I get back. I think I might know someone in Warner Robins who will give me top dollar for a hardly used, in great working order Roscoe Demeter preamp with extra pots!

The CP Thornton I just received has really nice sounding Nickel Wound strings on it. They feel great and are balanced, 45 - 125. I've never heard of Curt Mangan bass strings before, but I like them and believe they will sound excellent on a Roscoe.

I've used Curt Mangan strings for the last year along with my Pure Blues. Very good strings made right here in the US. I had a artist that used them and Warrior basses told me about them.

Since I got my new/used LG back from Roscoe for a spa treatment, wanted to share a NBD for me. This LG was in the classifieds for a bit, and when I got it, I wanted to get a few finish repairs done and the electronics swapped with Bart CB's and a Bart preamp as the Audere that the bass came with wasn't really my cup of tea. I'll get some more photos soon of the bass, but I am beyond pleased with the work that Keith and the crew did. All of the surface scratches and dings were repaired, and I'm pretty blown away by the PLEK treatment. I cannot wait to log some serious hours on this bass.
This being said, I now have an Audere preamp that I plan listing in a few days since I have no use for it now, and I will be listing my red LG here soon and on Reverb too. I would love to keep both of these items in the family if there is any interest.

I'm really glad that Keith and the guys are willing to take on the more extensive repairs these days. What's even more awesome is the quick turn around that they are able to provide. I know that I've heard of some rather lengthy turnaround times from owners that have sent their basses in to other builders to have mods/repairs done.

I love the look of your new LG. It has a very classy look to it.

I'm very glad that Keith is doing it too. There is definitely something with having the confidence that knowing that the job is going to be done right. I wasn't feeling too comfortable looking locally for someone that could do the finish repairs, that being said, I am also very glad that Keith has that PLEK machine too. After having a couple nights of playing on that bass, I am pretty blown away on the playability of it. I will be sending my other basses down to him at some point to get it done.
Thanks Jome, I am very happy with it, very fortunate that I have these amazing basses at my disposal.

Let's not let those builders who don't return your phone calls/emails off the hook!!
