I got it from Bass Northwest, and while I don't remember the exact price, it wasn't outrageous. I owned it 5 years give or take, and while it was a beauty (faux marble) and played and sounded well, the quality wasn't quite up to Roscoe standards for fit and finish, I wish I still had it. It was my wife's favorite of all those I owned and she asked me to never sell it, turns out she's smarter than me. Last I heard it was in Korea or Japan.
That's a good thing Steve. Sounds like you've found a really good Roscoe and you love it. My experiences have been that if you own 3-4 Roscoe's you still end up just playing the one that really speaks to you. Much better to supplement that one good Roscoe with a nice fretless and a Fender style bass. It took a lot of basses for me to finally get it out of my system but I finally did. I've got what I believe to be the best Roscoe 5 that I've ever owned, a killer Fender Elite P-bass 4 that plays and sound wonderfully and a Warmoth Gecko 5 fretless with a thick ebony finger board coated with polyester (i.e. Pedulla buzz).
That's it for me (unless I drop one coming down the stairs).
How does the balance of the Gecko compare to your Roscoe (and which Roscoe shape are you referring to)? Thanks! I'm seriously considering building out a medium Gecko (with an OBP3 + Super Doubles) as my backup to my SKB standard.

Nice. I'm still look lustfully at the first Roscoe P bass that Greg has at his store. Looks like a Pino P bass. Sometimes it seems like I only play 4 strings and the neck pup on my Century 5 for song after song, gig after gig. But there always seems to be one or two tunes a gig that "require" the B string - be it for range or fingering. One day I'll suck it up and get one. I just hate changing basses during a set. wrecks the flow.

Maybe. Thing is, I'm so used to my Century 5 (been playing it almost exclusively for 6 years now) that I don't know if I'd use/keep a 4 string P around - even a Roscoe Classic.
My wife talks me out of selling basses! So now I have a SKB Custom 5, Fodera E5S, MTD 535, Sadowsky JJ 5 satin, Lakland 55-94 (which she bought as a surprise!) and a 55-64.
Yes, she has sisters but they are NOTHING like her.

I've been passing off my purchases as "midlife crisis" expenses. Many guys will buy a sports car or something like that. I'm focusing on basses, so it could be much worse. lol
That's a good one, @TolerancEJ !!! I've used that one, too! And with a car, to really enjoy it, you have to leave the house! But with a new bass or two, you are more likely to stay at home to enjoy them or, and I use this one too..I'll go to work at a gig to put them to good use!! It works every time I needed to use it!! 
yeah you don't need with that solid #1 , I however like to have several #1's and will grab n go with any of them . I always take 2 out anyway . Usually a fretless and fretted . or a P & a P/J
My wife will not let me sell my Century 5 for anything. She knows (bases on my history) that I don’t usually keep 4 string basses. That said, she does like the look and sound of Pino’s bass with John Mayer so she might get over it if I were to purchase a “pino-esque” P bass of some kind.
Hey Robert.
I've never had an issue with balance of any of my Roscoe's (and I've owned multiple basses of all body types). I use a Comfort Strap and the bass just sits where I move it (the strap sticks very well to my shoulder).
On the Gecko however, since mine has the metal rods in the neck, it is a bit neck heavy. Still, using the Comfort Strap, it pretty much stays where I put it. Sitting, without using the strap, it does have a bit of a balance issue.
If you decide to go with building a Gecko I'd get the optional graphite reinforced neck (in lieu of the STD metal rods). I suspect that it balances much better.
My Gecko neck is a medium and it plays wonderful. I've had it for about 17 years and the neck has never moved at all. Super action too.
Thanks so much for getting back with me, I LOVE the way the SKB balances, and how easy it is to reach the first fret (a common difficulty with 35" scale basses). I'm really wavering over whether to put together a Gecko (they've got a finished body in stock that REALLY appeals to me) or save a bit more fun money to pick up the pink ivory Roscoe that Greg still has in stock.
Honestly, the only thing that I'm struggling with is the Bart setup. I loved that same setup in my Lakland 44-02, but I always found Barts to be a little on the tame side.
