You don’t have to put battery boxes on high end basses. Mine all have wood covers.

Devon has designed covers that have graphite reinforcement to keep it from warping. No one can help you if you allow your dog or other animals to sink their teeth into your beloved basses lol.

The Honey Badgers are the STUFF! You won't find a better pickup out there. And you're lucky you got a set - I don't think they're making them anymore.

In appraisal vernacular wooden electronics and battery covers could be called functionally obsolete due to superadequacy, meaning that a typical purchaser would unlikely pay more for a feature that offers no greater utility than a more economical and typical functional alternative.

Trivia question: Name the famous and great bass player that said, "I will only play basses with wooden electronics and battery covers. ."

+1 to all the above.

Plus I find the wooden covers create more annoying seams in the rear of the bass than I like to see. I do prefer that the plastic covers are recessed (verses sitting on top of the wood).

And the answer to the trivia question would have to be ..... Flea! :D Not! The answer would be nobody because great bass players play the front of the bass (and let their bass tech deal with the rear).:)

Joe, joe, joe....liking plastic covers and having to find a screwdriver to take that plastic cover off verses 1 second of pulling the magnetic cover off and changing the battery is your choice but what about this makes you think it’s not seamless lol?

Nothing personal Shane but the rear of your bass just doesn't do it for me. Too many seams!:)
