Have spent many hours with the three original Roscoe body styles: SKB, LG, and Century, listed in the order of my preference. The SKB is my favorite, with LG a close second, and Century a close third. All three shapes work fine for me, yet I still have my favored shape in the SKB.

Am only stating this to illustrate that ergonomics are a personal thing and one size rarely fits all. So, one person's recommendation is often totally contrary to another.

Totally agree. It may be a bit psychosomatic (because I do prefer the look of the SKB) but it totally plays like a dream to me. No issues what so ever.
I've just never warmed up to the upper long horn of the Century model and I much prefer the LG model with straight pickups. Although in the playing position they're straight (and I like the way they look in the playing position).

I've never owned the LG model's and honestly don't care for the look much. The SKB is by far my favorite as I think it looks the most masculine with the Horns designed the way Keith does them lol. The Century is very nice also but like Joe said above I don't care as much for the upper horn. The SKB is perfect body style wise for my preferences.

Count me in as a new member! I played this Century Standard Plus V at a music store the other day and I just couldn't leave without it. Demoed it against several other boutique models and it blew them all away. Looking forward to several years with this monster!

Welcome aboard! I love that one, and keep thinking that my next bass will be a PJ (probably an SKB).

I've been GAS'ing a little for a birth year bass after reading Geddy Lee's book. So many "loved" basses in there. I've had a little GAS bubble for a P bass over the last couple years as well. I'd love to combine the two but my "birth year" of '66 makes it an expensive venture. I also love my Roscoe so it's hard for me to go with anything else. I think Greg still has the first Roscoe P bass out of the shop in his shop. Really tempting. It has the output jack on the side which I love and looks kind of like a Pino P bass.

The 2019 Middle Georgia Bass GTG is scheduled for Saturday April 27 in Warner Robins GA.
The hours will be 12:00-4:00 PM
There will be the traditional Georgia Bob's BBQ, chips and good ole Georgia Sweet tea (and Coke) and of course lots of great bass gear to check out.

I’ve had and have all three body styles and love them all. They all work great for me playability wise and love the look of all of them but the LG is and has always been my favorite.

As far as soft bags go, the grey Roscoe bag is the best one I have used. The main thing I like about it is the shoulder strap locations. When you have it on your shoulder, it barely sticks up above your head so you're not wacking every doorway, light fixture, and ceiling fan that you encounter. The outer pocket is huge, plenty big enough for my Mesa Subway amp, or a slew of beverages. The zippers are solid and the inside lining is so soft and plush. It fits by basses with the strap stil attached without issue.

However, as I said, it's a soft bag. When you take your bass out, it flops over. Makes it kinda hard to manage when it's empty. So when I bought my Roscoe Classic, it came with a Protec Contego and I fell in love with that thing. It's kind of a hybrid...very rigid and heavier than the Roscoe bag. But I now like it better for transporting my Roscoes, and it does not stick up much higher than the Roscoe bag.

Basically if you want something light and soft, the Roscoe bag is awesome.

I don’t think they use those grey ones anymore (which are “inspired by” the good old Undercover bags)- when I’d asked Gard about them awhile ago, he said they’d switched to the TKL branded ones, which are similar to the ProTec Contego bags...

I didn't like the look of the older grey ones but love the Contego bags so if they offer the TKL bag I will take that. Thanks guys.

Unfortunately Modern case went out of business. I loved those too.

Talked to Keith and he said they now do the TLK case pictured above that is like the Protec COntego cases. I really like and have owned several of the Protec versions so I will go with that.

The bags are the nicest bags I have used, but I have an old Contego that I use and love.
