Roscoe Club

A second week of favorable reviews from the sound of the Roscoe with the Chromes has raised my curiosity, so I just ordered a second set of D'Addario Chromes for one of my passive XYZ basses!! I just love the way they feel, and so easy to play them! The tension on these just feels good!!

Good deal Ray. I’ve got them on my Roscoe, Jazz & p-bass and love them!

I suspect these Chromes have a long playing life? If that's the case, I can see putting them on a few more of my basses! Unlike the TI Flats, these Chromes can be slapped and pop without then sounds duddish! Is that a word?

I’ve had them on my Roscoe for about 9 months and they still sound like they did after they broke in.

Perhaps one too many o's .....

Does anyone prefer to use strings that have a silk wrapping around the string ends to help prevent damage to your precious hardware?

What the heck are you even talking about? Silks???

Nah and I wouldn’t dream of it. While I take care of my basses, they’re just tools of the trade. They’re going to get bumps, bruises, scuffs, and dings; and that’s perfectly ok.

:roflmao: Yes. Some have very limited choices. Headless basses. And Dingwalls with string lengths from 34" to a 37" B string.

Headless basses are not limited by strings. If it fits on a regular Roscoe, it will fit on a Headless Roscoe, as long as you're not doing something out of the ordinary like a .170 B string or something :)

I'm traveling for Christmas this year, which means I'm giving up all of my gigs. Checking with Roscoe brothers and sisters on the following things:

1. Any Chicago-area Roscoe bassists available for 2-3 services on Christmas eve in Geneva (schedule tbd, but probably 1 rehearsal and show up early on 12-24 to sound check)? Pay is decent...PM me. My other gig already has a sub.

2. Any ATL-area people know of a church looking for a bassist on Christmas eve? I will be near Senoia for the duration of the holidays, and would love the chance to play mass/services in GA. Fluent sight-reader, chord charts, etc.
