Roscoe Club

I know you are very careful and I really don't need to say this, but every time I see this photo with that Roscoe on that stand sitting so close to the edge just makes me want to reach into the photo and rescue it form a potentially ugly stage accident!

Free speech, I welcome it!

Those platforms are just an awkward size...I think it's a 4' square. If I put the stand on the floor, I'll be (getting out of my seat and) stepping on cables to set the bass on the stand on the floor, bringing it's own set of problems. If I put the stand on the square, it's in the corner with an inch or two to spare, but no one would be standing/walking near it. I've even put the bass stand on top of that 18" sub cabinet behind the 6-string...but that just looks funny.:cautious:

I do want to avoid bass accidents, though...that's for certain!

I sold this fretless Roscoe lg 3005 last year, been missing it a lot. Was very fortunate to purchase it back from same buyer, & it arrived today exactly as it had departed - Very happy today!

Played my Buckeye Roscoe Bass today with my new Trickfish Minnow Preamp and was really pleased. Such great thickness and clarity to every note. I have 3 more gigs to between tomorrow and Tuesday of next week to decide if the preamp is a keeper or if I will just keep my Nordstrand Preamp . Like it so far.

...dibs on your Nordstrand. Anyone itching to try a Aguitar Tone Hammer DI? ;)

Can I play here? New to Roscoe, with a Classic P4...

...the dedicated Roscoe Classic TB thread appears dormant. Went back about 20 pages here, and only @SteveC ‘s Classic P4 pic amongst all these gorgeous wood tops! (Classics can’t be that rare??? ;))

Anyway, love this P4! I’m finding quite a range of tones can be had with this Alder/Pau Ferro bass (passive only/no back preamp cavity)...amazing playability!

It's interesting when preamps get stacked upon a plethora of preamps in an overall signal chain. Tone is really only as good as your last preamp coloration. Or the first one. Or the middle one. Or, or, or. . . ( the sound of the seal of approval )

On another note, I had a wonderful treat yesterday during a visit to the Moog Store in Asheville, NC. It's the design and assembly place for Moog, along with a retail showroom. Got a quick tour of the factory area, then spent time with a Subsequent 37. Wow, talk about potential for crafting phenomenal bass sounds.

Designed and made in NC, USA, just like Roscoe. Love it! https://www.moogmusic.com/

I almost bought a 5 string version of that bass from the LowEnd, but someone else here snapped it up- so I had my fretted LG3005 PJ built instead.
