Fresh off the recent convo regarding 'not selling if you don't have to (gotta love irony), I'm considering listing my Roscoe LG St+ 4 - a beautiful, 7.3lb. PJ with ash, birdseye maple, wenge, TI jazz flats. Complicated reasons, but 'theres going to be a new-to-me Roscoe arriving tomorrow that I'll use more' is the basis for the sale.
If there were any club members interested, that sure would make life easy on me, and I'd extend a nice deal your way (will probably list at $1775 shipped to start, but not making the listing is worth some $!). This is a sweet instrument to get a P tone in a modern Roscoe shape, plus the blend and J tones are great as well!

I dont know the genesis of it, but I've always seen pickups listed neck side first. I think I noticed it in guitars when they would list strat pickups (SSH, for example), and it's probably fairly accepted in the bass world as well.
I have to admit, I've never seen a bass with a J at the neck and a P at the bridge, but that would be a JP! Maybe some funky Stu Hamm model did that...

Except that Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones played a Jazz, so that would make it a JPJJ. . while at the same time, all his basses were JPJXYZs since he didn't play Roscoe. However, JPJ did have a North Carolina bass connection in that he played a Moog Taurus. JPJ kickin'!

Thanks! My friend is happy with that explanation, where the naming is from neck to bridge. But he’s going to go get a drink or two behind the JPJXYZMOUSE thingy!

and apparently the seller thought it was too good of a deal- price is now $2400... still not bad.

You know I spent 3-1/2 hours getting my tuners to all line up on my Roscoe! That’s almost as long as it takes Shane to break down and clean his Roscoe’s!
But that said, it sure made the bass sound better. I really think that it allows me to play notes more precisely on the required beat.
Somebody needs to get out of the house, get some sun and breathe some fresh, pollen contaminated air!!!
Ha. My little buddy and l already did that much earlier today. In the time I covered four miles she covered many, many more.
