Well after another coat of semi shine teak oil applied to these Bubinga covers they match pretty close now. What do you guys think?

Roscoe fretted 5
can't stop the feelin

Thank you for the kind words. I think it's a pretty special bass. I wish I had a better clip. My band is trying to put together some tunes, get used to recording, setting levels, sending between ourselves, etc. This is what someone picked. I'll try to post one with drums or something so it can be "in the mix" as well.So smooth. Like a warm blanket on a cold night.
Can we make this post a sticky, with an auto answer for the question: "What does a Roscoe sound like?" And "What do you mean by that Roscoe signature tight low end and that Roscoe signature growl?"

Any of Roscoe Brethren ever seen Keith is a bridge like this? I’ve never seen another one like it in any of his basses.

That looks like Greg’s (Rocket Music) old bass. That’s not a factory installed bridge. Not sure what brand it is though.

I recall hearing Jimmy Haslip in an interview saying how he had to persuade Keith to get his bass wired volume/volume instead of volume/blend. He also said he prefers it because of more varied tones. He should have just gone to youWell I had some down time this morning and since I found another source for the concentric knobs and Electro-socket I did the Bart to Nord preamp transplant. Super easy install and the preamp sounds excellent. In order to get the active/passive and passive tone controls I had to go with the volume/volume in lieu of the volume/blend. But since I’ve had it in my Fender Elite for several months I’ve actually grown to prefer it. I’m of the opinion that you can get more varied sounds out of the vol/vol configuration. It just seems to change the tones more gradually (IMO of course).
Here’s a few pics. I put some black tape over the former trim pot hole in the rear cover (but I’m thinking of getting some wooden covers made so I can have them omit that hole).
