Roscoe Club

Joe, I've seen you go through so many Roscoes. This one might be the nicest looking one, although it could be a toss up (the walnut 6 string is still a favorite). Enjoy your retirement, man. You deserve it.

Thanks Gary.
Definitely enjoying retirement, although it still hasn’t fully sunk in yet.

“Mahoganut” and “Legally Blonde I” would also be my choice of the 2 favorite Roscoe’s that I’ve owned.
I wish that I had kept that one, even though I don’t play 6 these days. That one was a work of art!

Here's a pic for those that don't remember it .... (along with the best fretless that I ever owned)

So I’m considering selling a couple of my XYZ basses to fund a Roscoe Classic P/J. My problem is I’ve never played one of Keith’s one piece Classic necks and my current XYZ basses really play and sound so good.
Any of you Roscoeheads have a Classic 4 and live near Jawga? I really need to play one.

Doesn’t Keith have a return policy? And I’m certain he can shape a neck.

Joe, one of the things you’ll learn about being retired is to go for all of the gusto you desire (that you have funds or credit to get and some resemblance of control over what you can do) because your next big event is you won’t get another opportunity!

I love my classic Serial Number 12. I bought mine new from Chicago Bass Club. The relic job is as good if not better than anything from Fender Custom Shop. It plays well too. I say all this but my other F brand basses play well too.

That’s a nice one for sure! Look the look!
Very authentic looking.
Some of those custom shop relics from Fender can cost $6-8K too.
Although Stock Fenders are considerably less expensive than the Roscoe Customs and I’d have to sell 2 of them (plus add some cash) to purchase one Roscoe Classic.

If my wife hadn't bought me my Classic P for Christmas, I'd probably have picked this up and put some flats on it for my "P" bass.

Thanks for helping so much guys!:banghead:

Confession .......

I actually contacted the sell of that bass to see if he was interested in a trade for one of my Fenders. Close but no cigar!:D

The STD with a P/J configuration might be the ticket for me. I know and love that neck profile (plus it's 3-piece).

@Joe BassPlayer - I smell a new bass in your future! Roscoe makes it difficult with the PJ config on their modern body vs. a Roscoe classic. It's more than looks - those big-body Fender shapes add to the tone (for better or worse, subjectively) and obviously the mojo of an instrument.

I definitely get a blend of a F vintage-y vibe mixed with the comfort and playability of a Roscoe with this LG PJ4 with TI jazz flats. I also recently put together some F-style basses for those times if/when I need to show up and play that part.

Very nice!
Ok you talked me into it.
Just tell me where to sign!:help:

I might have to list my Elite and 50’s P-bass. Terrible time to sell gear though. Someone just trade with me!:)

That is a sweet bass, would love to hear or play one of those!

It’s weird, because you’d think it is, but stuff is still moving. I personally have sold two basses in the last few months, and big ticket basses like Fodera, Sadowsky and Alleva Coppollo are going so... who knows what’s going on?
