Roscoe Club

I think I like those new covers on your bass, though it’s really hard to see the improvement.

LOL

They look much nicer in person. The grain shows up much better.

Here’s a couple of pics with better lighting.

Those are better looking than the plastic ones! I think those builders who cut covers out of the same bass back woods are into the visual art aspect of what they are doing just a little deeper than those who don't. It's like putting a serious wax job on your best ride and not do anything to the tires or don't polish the windows!

I feel that way about the plastic concentric knob that Keith uses for the bass/treble stack. It just looks and feels cheap. That's the first thing that I replace now (when I get a new Roscoe).
The metal looks so much nicer IMO.

Right! The same love for the visual art aspect is not as deep as the love for raw wood bass blanks!
To tie that into my wax car scenario. It’s like a killer outside car detailing job, but left the dirty floor mats and uneaten french fries, burger wrappers and drink containers from the prior months every where on the inside! (I don’t know where all of this car detailing references are coming from!) :)

Wood ones would look even nicer ;)

How far down the rabbit hole can we go?

Personalized tuning machines would be nice and, I’m sure, approaching the end on the rabbit hole.

You guys are so evil!
I just survived a 3 month wait for my Nordstrand preamp and then a 2 month wait for the custom Wenge wood covers.
I think that I’m taking a break for a bit.

Of course I can’t play for another 2 weeks or so anyway.:help:

The rear covers, the wood knobs, the metal knobs, are really nice and all, but I'm not sure I'd spend the money for them. I don’t even play carved customs or signatures. Plain old Standard Plus basses for me.

I really like my Roscoe’s stock. I don’t even change strings. D’Addario nickel rounds.

To each their own.

We were just having a little fun in the mist of all of these trying times, is all!! Nobody trying to convince anyone from doing their own thing!!

Joe, if it’s any help at all, two weeks will be here before you know it!! Sorry about your finger, too.
