Keith is killing it with his newest Classic Builds. Thinking about getting one for my next build with Nordie Pickups and Preamp.
One of the things I like about my Roscoe LG basses is that they doesn't look like a Fender.
Say what you want to about Fender styles but I've never seen a Fender bass look that nice. We all know the playability and B string will definitely be better than a Fender 5'er also.
The nice paint job can't hide the Fender Precision body shape! I guess that's the main reason I gravitate more towards small builders that aren't coping the Fender body styles to produce a good looking/playable bass.

I guess that I grew up playing them. There wasn’t much more out there that serious bass player’s played (or wanted). I think they look awesome and sound awesome. It doesn’t affect my playing at all.

The blue burst is what I'm getting next. It matches exactly what I have seen in my head for the past few years.
I love my SKB's in their own right.
I would love for the Willie Tribute band to pick up enough that I could afford to spring for a Roscoe "FSO" for the 'more traditional look. There is a surprising amount of interest in country-based bands here, so maybe the year I spent getting into Willie will pay off some day. Of course, Bee Spears didn't play a Fender P-Bass, but it did look more like one than my SKB's...

So I’m finishing up my quarantine period and it’s been gloomy outside for 2 days now. So, I dug up an old all bass recording that I did 2-3 years ago and polished it up a bit. The tune is ABB’s Les Brers In Am and all the basses on the recoding are Roscoes. The main bass is a STD JB model with Da’ddario Chrome flats. The other basses all have Da’ddario XL RW’s.
The hardest part to this tune was coming up with the drum part.

What do you guys think of the inlays Keith is offering on his SKB and other Custom basses? He’s only offering the oval kind.
Yeah he's starting to do them again. There is a bass on his facebook page he is building with them right now.
They look nice but I’m more a fan of less is more. I much prefer a clean finger board with the signature marker at the 12th fret.
But that is just a personal preference. I’ve never been a fan of the block inlays either.
I like the inlays, but that is just my opinion. It’s your build so choose what you like.
