Comparing the fretboard grain, looks to be the same bass.

Well they’re all beautiful basses so I don’t think you could go wrong with any of those 4.

@Joe BassPlayer yes indeed. You are correct too about the option of buying used compared to new. That is probably why I have always gone used. Still has me tempted. You can either get exactly what you want/can afford vs a heck of a deal on a used bass.
Yes indeed Scott. Every once in a while though the exact bass comes available used that you would have built thpugh. The P/J Custom that I purchased this week was the exact bass that I wanted except it was listed as having a Spanish Cedar body. I remember thinking "I wish that it was either ash or mahogany but Spanish cedar should work". Then after I purchased it I found a NAMM 2016 video on Youtube of Gard going through the specs of the bass and he said that it had a mahogany body.

I went used at first. The 3 I have now were all purchased new. Two of them were many years ago before the price increase so that helped. The last was had for a great price. There are a couple combinations I wouldn’t mind having, but that’s not in the cards for now financially - new or used. Thankfully the 3 I have can cover any gig. Heck, if I had to I could use 1 and cover anything I would do around here.
There’s just something about picking out the woods and options you want and seeing Keith build it from scratch also. Don’t get me wrong you can find some really nice used Roscoe’s in excellent shape out there and save money. I just love the process of picking out the woods and having it built.
I don’t know about the briar patch Joe but you did let the rabbit run some this week.
