Went with my SKB 3005 instead of the Century 3006 tonight. Love this bass.
Driven To Tears played on my Roscoe Century fretless:
@geggy spoiger, I saw this stained BE fingerboard and thought it was banging!
A roasted BE looks incredible, too! I have a couple of non-Roscoe basses done that way.

Oh Snap that is nice. Kind of looks like velour up close ha! Is that on a Warwick?
Roasted BEM always looks wonderful, MTD does really nice things with it. Wonder how it looks against blue?
That stained BE fingerboard is for a Skjold (Pete Skjold).
I'm surprised more luthiers don't do that. The snap of maple with the look of whatever tint you prefer. Also solved the issue of soiled maple boards (that can occur over time).
My Blondie would have looked nice with a brown tint on the BEM board.
I understand the roasted finish has varying character based the length to time exposed to the roasting process.
Sometimes it's better to leave well enough alone
Now that I've spent a few days with this Roscoe I can't see myself picking up my FSOs ever again. This quality of the tone is unreal. Just been playing everything flat and it's incredible. Little bit of bass and little cut of treble and it's got that fat rich bass that I thought only came from recordings.
So thankful I was able to pick up a Roscoe.
There's some fret spout and the frets need a polish so it'll have to be sent back one day, but action etc is amazing so I'm not sure it neeeeds a plek per se. But once I want to spend the money I'll send it back to see just how good things can get.

But just think, some wenge colored stain would have changed the look of your BEM board months ago and you'd be playing it!

I was actually going to call Keith this week, but things were busy. Going out of town tomorrow, so trying to get things wrapped up. Should've make a trip to G'boro, and see what's the hold up, but that's a bit far for having the dog along with us.

Unbelievable! When ever it ships there should be a half-dozen Roscoe T-shirts in the box.
It still would have had the "traditional" neck shape, so not 100% where I wanted still, unless the stain is "slimming"Maybe Matt.
