I love them. My 9.0 is in with Andy getting the once-over, so the 6.0 is running the show tonight.

He may have a couple NOS Streamliners. I have debated trying it with my Genzler 12T-V cab. Get some of the tube tone I have DI with my REDDI. Not sure yet as I still debate that BAmp as an all in one solution.I love them. My 9.0 is in with Andy getting the once-over, so the 6.0 is running the show tonight.

Aside from my usual paralysis, the rumor that there could be a pedal version of a Bergantino preamp adds to the quandary. Some might say the debate is neverending![]()
It's funny how we extol the virtues of our "silent rigs," showing the same setups repeatedly. Guilty of using a silent rig as well: HPF, compressor, and DI to FOH to IEMs as performing (vanilla yawn) rig. Meanwhile, I just spotted a local 410 for a cheap price. To me, that is exciting, even if it just sits in my practice room, waiting for its live service just a few times a year.
That Broughton Messenger looks like a pretty full featured preamp. Does the Khan have a tube?I’m about as happy as you can be with my pedalboard setup but a Betgantino Preamp pedal would make me try and see if it would be better than the Broughton Messenger I’ve used the last year. I never use a amp anymore unless it’s a rare small gig where the FOH isn’t good.

The Broughton is the best preamp I’ve seen at being able to sculpt and gone tube your tone. You can set the EQ points and the HPF and LPF is really useful. The Khan is a remake of the Ampeg SVT DI pedal by the original designer Obeid Khan. He uses better parts and improved his original Ampeg design. It uses 1 12AU7 tube and sounds phenomenal. That Broughton Messenger looks like a pretty full featured preamp. Does the Khan have a tube?
Sorry your mentioned rigs don't sound so great to you. The "yawn vanilla" comment was mainly about my rig, and I didn't name drop, even though its great gear. It's also my personal opinion about IEM/FOH rigs in general, no matter what brands they are.I have a 410 Ampeg Heritage cab and Ampeg SVT 3 Pro and a Genzler stack. . you yawn at packing a pedal board that honestly sounds better than either of the other 2 rigs I have. . It always amazes me how downright rude a bunch are on here. That old saying if you don’t have nothing good to say then it’s better to keep your thoughts to yourself would benefit quite a few on here.
my back thanks me each time I don’t have to pack it.
using a FOH silent rig for the last decade, always at the mercy of subwoofer quality/volume/mix and FOH talent
Not like it does through an amp but it’s a sacrifice for the greater good.
Yep same here. I have a few nice Bergantino cabs and class D heads but am also going ampless on all of my gigs. So it’s a difficult position, so I sell the amp gear?
Also I have a Reddi but not sure I want to carry it to my gigs. Thinking of trying to find a high quality pre/di for my pedal board.
I’ve really gotten used to IEM and I think the stuff I have now gives me a great IEM sound - and FOH. But I don’t freelance, we have the same system for church and cover band gigs, and the same sound guy. Silent stages are great for mixing and look amazing. We run a sub on stage at church for some “tactile” feedback. It helps.I absolutely love silent stages. I use a Helix and in-ears, and would love to do that for every gig. Sadly, being a freelancer requires having an amp. But I'm doing my best to push my clients in the silent direction.
My goal is to only play live with a bass rig that moves enough air to move my bell bottom pants!
