I just tried to describe to a stranger (non-musician) what I do - once I got past k-5 music education, it was really hard to describe that I'm not really 'in a band' but I play out, write, and record regularly. That was interesting
A professional musician who isn't a necessarily a teacher and isn't in a band just doesn't compute to folks who's only interaction with music professionals is in grade school educational settings.
I’m hoping to retire (at least from this job, I’ll still need to work) after 32 years. Hopefully I’ll be able to describe what I do. I’ll have to watch you all more carefully for how to do that.
I used to think being retired means you are old. I haven’t thought that way since 2015!

I don't really care about weight. I'm not playing 3 hour gigs anymore -- and even if I did, it's never seemed to me that the difference between 9 and 10 pounds was a big deal in ergonomics. I understand some people have health issues that make it matter to them, but I guess I'm lucky.
That's great! I was just mentioning so that you're aware. Mahogany body/wenge neck is an amazing sound. Darker, even and growly. Should be fantastic!

I posted this on the Roscoeheads FB site as well but wanted to show the updated family pic. The LG Standard Plus was just built and sounds great. It’s just over 8lbs and is the snappiest of the bunch it plays itself. It’s brighter on the the G and A strings not sure if the slant is the actual cause or woods or simply that its brand new . The two customs and Standard Plus overall sound more similar than different so I’m happy regardless. They sound like a Roscoe in other words lol. The classics are great too. I can tell the LG that is 35 scale has a different feel to it. I prefer the 35 scale

My (new to me) LG Custom 5 that I am having Keith refurbish with new Bart electronics is a 34. I’ve never played it but I’m very excited to experience the 34 inch scale Roscoe 5. Beautiful basses man. I really love your new Standard Plus LG.
Said bass with Nordstrand electronics put in by the previous owner. Getting a Plek job too. Was not anticipating the work taking this long but I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait.

I suspect that the delay is mostly due to part availability. It’s hard to get anything these days. And in the world off high end basses, parts ain’t parts!
