Roscoe - LG or SKB??

For my next bass I want to get either a 5 string Skjold ( I had a Skjold 6 - Great bass - Just didn't find much use for the high "C" string.) or a 5 string Roscoe.

I was just wondering if Roscoe players prefer the LG or the SKG , and the pros and cons of each model. Thanks!

I think it may have another downside in that when someone asks what the LG stands for, you have to say "little girl" :p

I have a Pedulla Rapture and a LG... they are very similar from an ergonomics point of view, small body that just seems to hang perfectly on a strap...
If possible, I would consider trying both Roscoes to see how well they hang off of you, before you make your decision. The SKB and the LG do hang differently from each other... but both will bring on the thunder!:bassist:

I've owned 2 LGs and 2 SKBs (and am looking for another SKB), and you can't go wrong either way. I personally prefer the more traditional looks of the SKB bodies for the Classic Rock Top 40 gigs I do, but that's just me.

I think either bass will suit you well, just go for the one that looks best to you.

As for the Century's, they almost look too traditional for me, but others love them.

I posted this thread knowing that someone must have asked this question before. I live in the boonies and have a slow dial-up connection so it takes me forever to search around for stuff. I figured if there was already a thread out there similar to this someone would post me a link to it (as you did). Thanks to everyone who gave their input/advice and for posting a link to the thread on the Roscoe poll.

I spent hours this summer going back and forth between a bunch of Roscoe basses (thanks to Tony at Planet Bass for putting up with me) and decided that the SKB was it for me.

I’ve owned an SKB for about 10 years or more and the base is definitely a bit heavy. I have an LG fretless that is much lighter, even though it’s only by a couple of pounds. I love the feel of the LG and the smooth sound so much that I just purchased an LG signature.
Comfortable, great tone and fast neck !!
