Hi Folks, I bought this old Roscoe from a guy in NYC, it's serial number is 3131, pickups are EMG, can anyone tell me what year is it made? It still plays good, I don't really know the model's name either. The seller doesn't know either, he's like the 3rd owner... I'm the 4th owner. Went to Roscoe site, there's no model like this one. The body is covered with a layer of marble like wood, the under wood looks like Ash...? Thanks for your help :)

Based on the serial number, between 95 and 97 is the year on the bass (sorry, our records before #5000 are incomplete at best). The model is an LG 2000, the top is burl maple and the body appears to be ash. Can't tell from the photos what the fingerboard is, if you can e-mail ([email protected]) some better quality pics of the 'board we should be able to tell that as well.

I have been hesitant about what a Roscoe would look like with all those stacked knobs but, it looks really good. I love four band pre amps (I have an Audere with Z-mode in another bass) and have been watching and listening to your reviews closely. I really wish I could make it to the GTG.

Yeah, I wish that you could make it too Joel. You'd even get to compare my Roscoe with the Pope with a couple Fodera's with Fodera/Pope pre's and also a new Warrior with a Pope Flexcore preamp.

I was a little concerned initially with the 3 stacked knobs too. But since they're fairly small (short) profile, and they're lined up along the body perimeter, I think that they look nice.

I like how they look, and they're far more functional than the odd stack knobs Roscoe use.

The walnut/mahogany bass sounds so nice with the Roscoe Bart P/U's and Bart preamp that I'm probably going to leave it as is.
Such a nice contrast from the ash LG-3006 with the Bart CB's and Pope Flexcore. Both just killer sounds but soooo different.
