What would a trip to Greensboro be without taking some time to pick through the Roscoe wood pile? I added a couple nice new tops to my ridiculously large "reserved" pile, so now I've got so much nice wood tied up that I'm feeling guilty. So I want to get systematic about converting some of these tops into live orders, and I once again want to ask my fellow TB'ers to help me do that!

Here's what I'm thinking. Each month I'll setup a poll of the 3-4 tops that I would like to see turned into basses. You guys vote for your favorite top, and the winning top gets turned into a bass in short order.

So without futher ado, here are the first 4 top candidates. I'll let the poll run a few days, and then we can start kicking around the final specs.

Here are links and pics for the poll...

Don't know about these, but I am thinking the Chilean laurel burl is gonna be the top on my next order.

Is it still available?

Yep, it sure is!

I was going to put that on a six string for myself. That's not going to happen anytime soon, though, so I decided to put it up for sale. Lucky you (and me)! :D

That is the oddest piece of buckeye I've ever seen, like there's a picture of a ghost or ghoul or something in it.

Heh, with an ebony board and black hardware, could be the perfect bass for a Rob Zombie cover band. :D

*YAWN*
Do you have anything less than spectacular?
:hiding:

That Buckeye Burl with a BEM Diamondwood unlined board 5 string fretless CB pups and Bart pre could alter my thoughts that I don't NEED another bass...

Too bad it can't be had in LG style...

The Buckeye Burl top has established an early lead, which is kinda funny. I almost didn't include that one because it's one of the new tops that I picked out on Monday. So much for working my way through the tops I've had on hold a long time. :rollno::D

Sorry, Gard! I'm sure a guaranteed order will make you feel some better. :hyper:

Dude, order away, the order in which you order the orders is an order of magnitude below the order of issue in order of importance in my order of things.

...what did I just say?
