Rotosound 88 tapes or 77 jazz flats ?

Waiting for new P bass body to be delivered . In the meantime.......
My walnut body piezo only J bass has roto tapes
My Jack Casady also roto 88's
I have a set of 88's ready for new P bass ...........
I feel a calling for jazz flats . You may have noticed that I am a fan of roto tapes and I am wondering whether to string this one up with flats for a change . Probably the lighter gauge 40-100 as they are listed as pretty much the same tension as the tapewounds .
Any thoughts or opinions from you lovely TBers ?

Go for the 77s if you already have the tapes on another bass

I was thinking of a change . Im guessing a bit brighter when new ? If you have used them , how slick/smooth are they compared to tapes ?

I haven't used them for years so I can't remember how they compare tonally, they are less smooth than the tapes which are very very smooth, the flats have a slight texture to turn in comparison

Thanks for your reply . I guess there is only one way to find out . I can always go back to the trusty 88's .
