I was at my buddy's house playing through his audio system and didn't hear any squeak at all from my round wound strings. I take the same bass home and hook it up to my Rumble 100 and when I move around the fretboard I get loads of squeak. It must be some sort of setting on my amp compared to his system or it is very dry in my room where I play at home and my fingers are super dry and I cant help but squeak. Any thoughts ?

Squeaks are the kid off noise very often lost in the mix. Were there other instruments going at your buddy’s house?
Was your buddy’s amp much louder than your home amp ? Maybe the squeak is in amplified and your just playing quietly. Tone knob differences may Also be responsible.

Round wound squeak lives in the highs and high mids. Try turning those down on your amp if you want. Or just embrace it. You may find it changes your style for better or worse. Depending on what I’m playing I don’t mind the squeak. It can add cool texture to what you’re playing or it can be a distraction.
When you get in a mix with a band it likely won’t be noticeable. IMO you don’t want to get in the habit of always cutting mids and highs because that’s where all of the character comes from on bass. It’s called a bass guitar, but the spicy goodness is in the mids.
