Roundabout tone

In the dim mists of time I seem to recall an interview with Chris where he said he used a Fender Jazz on the the recording of Roundabout.

Nope, Ric 4001S, then doubled on archtop, f-hole acoustic.

With bi-amping... Would it sound stupid to do it with two completely different amps?

Say a Trace Elliot V8 for overdrive and low end perhaps.. And an Eden for the top end? Would that work?

Would it sound bad if the cabs were real different as well?

Also, could I then switch to just one of the amps for a totally clean sound at one time? Or would that not work...

Another part of the tone was obtained by Squire doubling the part on one of Steve Howe's semi-acoustic Gibsons. It wasn't plugged in, but miked acoustically.

I doubt that affects the tone much. I listened to Roundabout with earphones and could hear the guitar doubling the bass very softly...

Another good song to check out for Squire tone is Yours Is No Disgrace off of The Yes Album. That one's always been a favorite of mine.
