Roundwound strings for a Pbass for fusion jazz

Glad to see Dunlop Super Brights getting some mentions here. They'd be at or near the top of my list for your needs, OP, thanks to their great mid-range character. The Super Bright moniker isn't specifically about the highs; they're are what I'd call full-spectrum strings. In light-bulb terms, they're bright white, even the nickels.

I use Elixer stainless steels on my P-Basses. They're coated and they have a nice tone for the life of the strings. My sweat tends to kill strings pretty quickly.

Formerly I used to use DR Hi Beams in 50-110.

Never had any issues eating frets, even on vintage instruments with nickel frets

I have the impression that the Pro Steels (my only experience with SS strings is with them) are particularly nasty being "textured" rounds. But perhaps I press the strings way too much against the frets, don't know.

Nice mellow tone! I already get a much brighter and more aggressive tone with my V-Mod Pbass strung with 7250s, so perhaps I should just be happy with it. But no, I'll look further. Perhaps the Dunlop bright nickels or the NYXLs.

Precovid I was doing close to 100 shows a year. Yes I rotate between 2-3 Basses but I haven't needed any fretwork aside from minor dressing of fret ends in the last few years.

I love DR Nickel Lo Riders for anything I do that requires rounds. Have used them for modern funky jazzy stuff, some modern latin jazz, etc. Have them on a J and a P. Very versatile IMHO, and "warm"(though not super zingy on top but that's what I like). As for a P not being appropriate for fusion jazz, I think Paul Jackson (RIP) would beg to differ!

Looking for a 45105 set of rounds for my Fender 2017 AmPro Pbass (with stock V-Mod pup) for fusion jazz. Admittedly it is not the most appropriate bass for this genre but this is what's available. Currently strung with Fender 7250s, which are OK but I wouldn't mind trying something else, perhaps with a bit more character. Stainless steel rounds are out of the question as a set of Pro Steels has been quite nasty to the frets of this Pbass. Thanks for your suggestions.

They are great strings...... Last much longer than coated DRs or Coated Roto Nexus. Which if you are using them, and get twice the life span, pretty much a bargain IMHO.
