Suggestions? I'm on my third playthrough of Dragon Age and I'd like a change of pace. I've always been a console guy, so I'm clueless as to what's good for PC.

RPGs for PC

If you've got a DS, Dragon Quest IX is pretty fun.
As for PC stuff, you could always go with Mass Effect 1 & 2.

I've been playing far too much of that recently. It is an FPS/RPG tho, so it's a bit different from the usual sword play.
Diablo 3 comes out soonish (I think).
There are always the older Diablo games, Elder Scrolls series, Guild Wars, Fallout series etc.

I'd like something non-bioware for a change. I've noodled on mass effect on xbox (i think?) previously, and being a bioware game, its has similar flavors to dragon age. I need a different playstyle.
I vaguely remember the original fallout from a friends house many moons ago. Could I jump into a more recent sequel without missing much, or should I start from the beginning? I have no qualms about playing old video games. I still do replays of NES and SNES RPGs.
I think they are loosely related (ie same world, different points along the timeline), but that's about it.
I got a cheap set that had Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics (cost £5 new). I'm sure that'll be avalible in the US too. If you want to give them a bash.
I will once again plug Borderlands, it is a very, very addictive game

RPG...hmmm...You know what,Fallout 2 was released in 1998.I'm playing it for the 10th time I guess,check it out.

Fallout 3 is the current PC game... VERY fun! I've played through it twice. Never played a previous version.

+1,000 on Fallout 3. I'm playing through the DLC now, and it adds a ton to the replay value.
Also, check out gog.com for the prequels. None of them are necessary for the storyline, but they're fun all by their lonesomes, and there are a few running gags that run through all the games.
For those not in the know, gog.com has a ton of old DOS games, dirt cheap, updated enough to play on your modern machine with no wierdness.

I love RPG's but really haven't played anything resembling the sort since the good ol days of Dungeons and Dragons.
I know it's a bioware game, but I highly recommend Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II. They are different enough from the current bioware games, I think, that you wouldn't know the difference. The story line is great for both games, and both should give you hours of entertainment. Baldur's Gate II could easily keep you occupied for over 200 hours.
In the same vain, the Icewind Dale games use the same game engine as the above, but were not developed by Bioware.
