**Rugby World Cup 2011**

"If you aren't cheating, you aren't trying."

Sports have long since passed the heyday of "gentlemen's games," and as such, it is the referees job, first and foremost, to ensure the game is played in the fairest way possible according to the rules. If anything, just like the football WC, I blame the referees for poor officiating more than I blame the players for cheating.

Having them from forehead to chin down the side makes for interesting looks at work

I remember going back to Utah with my then-wife to visit, and getting into an old boys games when we went to see my old club side play, went into a ruck, my teammate did the same thing from the other side, and voila', I show up for work on Monday with a HUGE shiner and 10 brand new stitches in my eyebrow.

That link didn't work bud?

How I think the RWC will go:

Pool A:
1st - New Zealand
2nd - France

Pool B:
1st - England
2nd - Scotland*

Pool C:
1st - Australia
2nd - Ireland

Pool D:
1st - South Africa
2nd - Wales**

1/4 Finals:
Australia - Wales
England - France
South Africa - Ireland
New Zealand - Scotland

1/2 Finals:
Australia - England
South Africa - New Zealand

Final:
Australia - New Zealand

Top 4:
1st - New Zealand
2nd - Australia
3rd - South Africa
4th - England

I have maybe placed a bit of homeward bias, but regardless, it will be a tough set for Scotland, I have added a few notes below:

*Argentina could beat Scotland to this position.
**Samoa could beat Wales to this position.

I'd like to see SA beat NZ, but I don't think it is as likely as I would like to believe.

Also, this is the RWC, anything could happen!

still not working...

I wish I could say you're wrong mohawk... I'm not sure though...
los pumas are still looking for their best shape, but who knows...
Just yesterday I heard an interview, they were saying how England is a very strong team, but they basically play the same strategy and never give surprises, so if their opponent is able to take them away from that comfortable place they might be beaten.
Also read today that England has a new black uniform, much disliked by newzelanders, and so locals will be rooting for us.
Should be an advantage for the pumas, though they didn't care about home advantage in france four years ago.

Changed the link, does that one work?

I can tell you, the pressure is on for NZ. Home soil, home crowd, history of choking, havn't won it in 24 years. Pressure is on!!

Link still not working.

As said, it's the RWC, it could go any way!

I think the Pumas are still struggling with a bit of a mixed team. And just going by the past record, I think Scotland have beaten Argentina 3 out of 4 times (two of those in Argentina). Both have good packs and it is usually a pretty balanced game. In all honesty, I think the Scotland-Argentina game will decide which of our teams goes through to the knock out stages!

I don't know why England went with Black, I saw that that caused a bit of annoyance to the locals, a silly thing to do!

After the last 6 nations, I would say that is fairly true for how England have played. Very strong team, but no mixing it up. They won the 6 nations, but they were being progressively less impressive as the games went on, the other teams picked up on what they were doing etc.

Again though, this is the world cup, so who knows, things will likely have changed!
