I toured in a hardcore band for about 10 years straight and agree with most of these things. Best tip I ever got was in a n article written by the guitar player of white zombie. I think in a guitar world in the mid 90s. Anyway, he said that people need to get over pooping in public rest rooms, unless you can hold it for the entire tour. as a bass player, the best advice I have is to ALWAYS have spare cables. A backup bass and head, and 9v batteries! I dontcare how great your power supply is, stuff fails.

I remember a friend who's toured a bunch (I haven't) also said something like:

"There will be a time when someone in the band is having sex in the same room that you are in, or you will be having sex with someone while at least one member of the band will be around. If you can't handle it or get too creeped out, then don't go on tour."

I don't know if that really would happen to me now that I'm in my 30s, but it would have been entirely possible 10+ years ago...

Friend of mine roadied for a bunch of bands in the 80's. He said the rules were:

"If it is wet, drink it. If it is dry, smoke it. If it moves, **** it. If it doesn't, load it on the truck."
