Rumble 200 combo vs head and 115 cab

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I'm already considering swapping out for separates for plenty of other reasons. I didn't bring them up because I didn't want to divert the conversation away from just the tonal differences in the box sizes, but maybe I just need to give it a go and hear what my ears tell me.

My concern has nothing to do with mixing 12s and 15s.

How about I ask this way - has anyone moved from the Fender Rumble 200 combo to the 200 head and 115 cab? How does the tone differ?

I have the 200 head, a 115v3 and a 112v2. The 112 is more throaty. The 115 gets. very. low. I prefer the 112. Then I upgraded the speaker in the 112 to a Kappalite. And I liked it more. I toyed with upgrading the 115. I ended up getting a WD-800. It has a HPF. hoped to dial back some of the 115 lows. Still prefer the 112. Bare in mind I’m playing in the house. I really like the 200 head a lot. I love it and the 500. It’s perfect but for OD, I just was never able to find a flexibility w OD. I’m considering selling the 115 and 200 head locally. Happy w the 112 and new head. Small enough to sit on my dresser. Don’t think I’ll need the others. Like new. Too bad.
