Cool! I wonder if they'll play during the old songs. I kinda hoped they wouldn't if they ended up touring with the band, but now I think that would be pretty interesting!

RUSH Clockwork Angels

Funny,I mentioned the string section to their longtime roadie, Tony Geranios, in an interview a few months ago. I wonder if he knew. 
It would be great to hear Losing It. I don't think they've ever played that one live.
Manhattan Project with strings would be cool too (but they've done that one before). Oooh, how about the Necromancer (highly unlikely, but cool)? I could go all night with these!

I'd expect a good chunk, if not all of Signals to be played for the 30th (check out the tour book cover) so I wouldn't doubt it. Especially if they have all those strings right at their fingertips!
I don't know if or how replacing sequencing with strings would work, but I think my must-hear-played-by-Rush-live bucket list will be complete if they play Middletown Dreams.
Time and Motion could be a good song for strings too. I always thought that was a very strong track.

I have listened to the album on you tube, its not very clear but does indeed sound pretty awesome

Two things ...
1.) Touring wth a string section? OMG! Didn't they learn anything from the last 25 prog-rock bands that thought that was a good idea?
2.) So is the LP a good enough improvement to make me invest in either upgrading my turntable or even buying a new one?

That sucks. I didn't realize the release date was different for the UK. I listened to most of it again last night and I think that overall it is best Rush album in a long while.
I thought the Moody Blues were brilliant with an orhcestra. As was Kansas. And besides, Rush will only be bringing a small 8-10 piece ensemble.
And yes. This is the best thing they've done in a long time. IMO, as a complete album, better than everything since Signals.
As a late follow-up to the discussion on CA's production, I'll have to say that The Anarchist is not only a brilliant song, but it also sounds fantastic. I can't stop listening to it. Of course, last week it was Seven Cities...

I did find it disappointing, though, to hear Alex say they weren't doing the full album on the first part of the upcoming tour though. 
I think the biggest part of the painfulness to listen to came on the climax of Clockwork Angels (the track) when there's about 12 million guitars, 40 vocal overlays and the same, chugging, buzzsaw bassline.
