RUSH Clockwork Angels

According to their website the official release date is actually June 12th. Sorry sounds like a little longer wait for us. But they are releasing a song from the album on April 19th. Title is headlong Flight. This also a return to the concept album for them plus Neil is also working with someone to write a companion book to coincide with album release.

I'm guessing this clip is from the end of the song.
Maybe the beginning. I can't geek out (good way) as much as some of you but I am certainly anticipating this release. Maybe they'll finally be in the R&R Hall of Fame. It's a crime that they're not, & makes me question/suspect this place.

The thing that makes me so pumped about it is that this is Rush's first concept album (2112, Hemisphers, and Caress of Steel all have sidelong epics, but none are complete albums dominated by one theme, idea, or story), and from they're own words, they're going for the more ambitious, "out there" style that they had in the 70's and early 80's, which made me a lifelong fan. It just excites me to see them be this bold and imaginative again, producing a true-to-form prog rock concept album with an orchestra in a time when prog has been left for dead by many, the ipod/itunes has almost made the "album" a lost art, and there is "all this machinery making modern music", spitting out crappy pop singles to dominate the airwaves.

and of course, just from hearing "Caravan", and the 30 second clip of "Headlong Flight", I can hear a roaring, heavy, dense sound that they haven't boasted in a long time; a powerful sound that only comes from a power trio in proper form.



Plus, it's a new Rush album. What more really needs to be said? :p
