So far Geddy is pulling out all the tools for the R40 shows. So far he's played
Black J his typical #1
Blue J tort guard
White J tort guard
White no reverse Tbird
Burst non reverse Tbird
White P (which crushed it)
A les Paul looking bass that I couldn't ID
A LPB j with matching headatock

That's just through intermission. More to report later.

And they ain't cheap, neither! I wonder what percentage of the total number of 4080s in existence those two represent?

Sigh, just checked the tour schedule / map - I'm of course located just about dead center in the "hole" in the middle of their northeast loop, 4+ hours either way, and I'm guessing those shows (NYC and Buffalo) are already sold out.

I think someone in another thread said something about the first half of the show, the backline is stripped down to look like their early gigs at high school gyms, small clubs ect. ect. He wasn't sure if the SVT's were just for looks while having his Orange amps actually doing the work behind the scenes. Interesting concept though...

All the amps are "dummy" amps made by Mojo.

If you look at the attention to detail, the cabinets even say "Dirk" in a play on the old Ampeg logo...not to mention the "ARF40" t-shirt lol...

It's actually really cool because the show progresses (regresses) from their current material all the way back to their earliest stuff. So throughout the show they continue to strip away all the more modern stage stuff. In the encore when they do working man, lakeside park, etc. the stage is set to look like a high school gym and Alex and Geddy just have single amps set up.
