If you've watched Rush in Rio, then you've seen Alex's bizarre "Jazz is weird" bit in La Villa Strangiato. Well, he did something similar on the R30 tour during 2112. I'd rather not explain too much and spoil it.

Dude, that rocks! That jazz bit in Strangiato was one of the funniest things I've ever seen a musician do! Alex has a really quirky sense of humor ("Remember kids, if Gene and Paul from KISS show up at your place, go tell your mom and dad. Then the house on fire") which really comes out in The Boys in Brazil on Rush In Rio. Man, I want that R30 DVD soooo bad!

I love Rush. Best band ever. Geddy Lee is my deity, and every night I pray to him before going to bed.

Not only that, but now I got those Lennon style sunglasses and a 70s style MIA J bass to do my best impersonation of him!!! :smug:

And Neil and Alex aren't too bad either. w00t Rush.

Yeah, I thought that Geddy has some of his best grooves on the 80s albums with his Wal. See The Big Money. That has one awesome basslines.

Heehee. The only similiarity I see between C&C and Rush is that Claudio sounds like Geddy minus the testicles.

Geddy=higher pitch voice but still pleasing to the ear

Claudio=Maybe a little too comfortable with his feminine side.

I've been thinking...when this thing finally comes out, I (and several others perhaps) will be faced with a tough decision: which disc to play first. :confused: In the end though, I think it will be impossible to resist the lure of disc II. I mean, La Villa in the studio!??!!? Will Geddy be recording with his classic Ric? A Farewell to Kings?!?!? Circumstances??!?! Crazy, just crazy...

Good question. I was fortunate enough to see the show, so maybe I'll go for the historical stuff on the second disc first.

I don't think this DVD will have anything quite as epic as the sight of 40,000 Brazilians freaking the @!#$ out at the beginning of Tom Sawyer. :D

Remember the woman who was literally thanking God when they started? :eek: That was freaking priceless.

Still I want to see this one bad.

More than likely Tom, the old geezers such as myself (ahem) will ravenously tear the cellophane from the pristine package and proceed to load that DVD player up PRONTO with the second disc featuring the historic footage. :D The younger fans may opt for the live concert in Germany first which is indeed fine and dandy as well. Don't get me wrong, that live clip looks killer and I love ALL phases of RUSH, old and new but actual footage of them from 1978 recording those classic tracks in the studio is just too much!

I absolutely CAN'T wait for this. Rush and Geddy are what inspired me to play in the first place. Red Barchetta... back in the early days of MTV (back when they still played music videos, so it was a long time ago!) they had the video for this song and I heard this lovely sound and had to find out what it was. Bass guitar! Woohoo! I was never the same.

Saw Rush five times so far and have been blown away every time. I even took my wife to see 'em for Presto. She was thinking "heavy metal headbanging" and was she ever surprised. Got a chuckle one day a few weeks after that to come home to find Presto in the CD player after I knew I'd put it back in the jewel case :)

Can't wait to lay hands on this DVD!

Well, I'm definitely going to get the DVD. I went to the R30 concert in Chicago with my cousin (who is a drummer) and the drummer from my band. They were awesome.

My cousin is a total RUSH nut. He's single, is an engineer, and lives with his dad. So he saw Rush last year about 10 times (He saw them in the U.S. several times but also flew to Canada for a couple shows and to Europe for a few more). So, on the DVD I'm going to be perusing the crowd looking for him. He even has the license plate: RUSHHHHHHH on his Volvo. Rush is almost the only thing he spends money on. Since I have three kids (the oldest leaving for college next year) and a mortgage, I only got to see them once. :crying:
