But, have any on this thread watched the Johnny Long Hobo Depot bass clips on YouTube? That man can play! He's a monster! But, he sounds (to my ears) the same on literally every bass he plays: P, J, MM, Ric, Fodera, Ken Smith, Pedulla... it doesn't matter. It's actually annoying to me because I want to get some idea of what the different basses he plays sound like... but I can't! They all sound like Johnny Lee Long!

Johnny is a great guy but the basses in his videos do all sound the same and pretty bad at that! It's a combination of always presenting them with fresh strings and laying on the treble an recording the whole thing through an inadequate mic setup. His videos would be much better with some balancing of the sound through a DI as they all have the sound of a cheap phone camera to me.

He must really like the Warwick Thumb look if he spends that kind of money on a signature bass that looks exactly like his old models.
