Rybski Basses?

I know the builder of these basses personally. He was at my house today borrowing my 2 Rybski's for Summer NAMM show. He is going to start building basses again soon!!! Are you interested in have a custom made Rybski?

:hyper:
:bassist:

I have a Rybski being built for me right now, and he has been great with communication and design elements that I want. He e-mails me back the same day I write to him. He is a bass player himself, and has an extremely good reputation. Many of my friends here in Nashville know him personally and have nothing negative to say. Victor Wooten certainly likes him.

I asked Vic in person at Berklee this past June about Rybski. While he was guarded and said he only "plays" Foderas, he said they were excellent basses.
Sounds like he's under legal obligation to say that, he's a Fodera endorser, I imagine?

Help me out...what does this mean?
Well, in the Video bashing Rybski, the guy said that he was ripped off by a "Luther"...
The word he wanted to say is "Luthier", and is pronounced differently....as derived from the French language; "Loo-thee-ay"

And my statement is that the guy can't pronounce the Luthier's name (Slawomir Waclawik) and then couldn't pronounce his profession.
His name would be pronounced as : Slavo-meer Vats-laveek :

And "Rybski" is most likely his nickname, meaning "fish-like"....he probably likes to go fishing....a lot....or he swims pretty damn close to fish-like....(note the fish icon on his guitars)
but that's just my take...

We do not have "endorsers" in the official sense of the word. Everyone playing a Fodera is playing one because he / she wants to -- including Vic with whom we have exactly zero legal agreements of any kind. He is our friend and likes our instruments and so he plays them. For better, or worse, it is as simple as that.

Cool! Didn't mean any disresepect to Fodera!

He should post in here then. That supports the initial claim that he was paid and didn't come through.
How so? A complete refund was reportedly issued, seems to support Rybski's claim that the complainer kept changing his mind and asked for the impossible.

Speaking as a bass player, not a moderator, I just appreciate hearing things firsthand.
Well, sure, but you can't reasonably insist that every custom bass builder participate in the discussion here. :) When I saw the stack of receipts the complainer posted a picture of, it was pretty obvious to me that Rybski's version of the story was the more believable - that doesn't happen unless the buyer keeps changing the specs. Being in the tech industry, I'm quite familiar with the issue of requested specs constantly changing while trying to move a project along - I think Rybski responded perfectly appropriately, wish I could do the same.
