S/D-85: Tasty clippings from Corey's Box

All this burger talk's got me reminded of the old NES game "Burger Time."

Another installment in my 215 quest:

I found another SVT-215e at a Chicagoland (Villa Park, to be exact) GC. Here's the link: Invalid Link Removed

This one includes a road case and is $499. I called 'em up and they won't split it and sell me just the cab. So here's the question: think I could sell off the empty road case? Luckily it's the same size for the 810, so that helps. Again, all impressions, inputs, insults are appreciated!

Just wild speculation on my part but I'd think that if you listed it here in the classifieds you'd be able to move it. You'd have to be willing to drive to meet someone or take a bath on shipping the thing.

New Amp Day!

Peavey Classic 120/120. $200!

The tubes it came with are nothing to write home about (Chinese) but I'd say I got a pretty good deal.

Seller said he wanted to move it since "No one uses tubes anymore" He sells lots of the micro-heads.

I had the opportunity to get one up for sub $200 but it was really quiet, I would have picked it up but wasn't wanting to retube or fix it.

I was just talking to my guitarist about these today. Did you get that at Greg's?

Awesome score!
I've been wanting one of those forever. Nice job.

Thanks man! Me too!

Yeah, you never know how bad it could be messed up. This one came with a free "checkup" by a tech that's been building amps for decades, and has had his amps featured in Guitar Player mag even. He's kind of my tube mentor. "Joe Frantzen" at Guitar Shop of WI in Madison WI. Great guy.

Bingo! He told me he'd give me a good deal if I was able to get it out of the rack. It was at the bottom of a 6' high rack with tons of big amps on top of it... wait for it... with none of them screwed into the rack. So my arms are now tired. ha! Was worth it. The heaviest was actually an old solid state 4U Carvin that was a whopping 2500 watts!
