I'm from Northeastern PA Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area but chopped ham just gives me the creeps LOL. I do miss some good Polish Ham though
Not sure what you mean by Polish Ham, but the Polish butcher around here has the best cuts of meat I have ever seen.
You know I don't know how to describe it, think it is an old timer saying to call it that. It was square not round, and it always said Imported Ham on the packaging, it was deli meat not like at a butcher shop. Just tell the deli worker a pound of Imported Polish Ham sliced thin or chipped please. Best damn lunch meat ever.

the first two tracks are much better than the second two IMO. reminds me a lot of cursed/converge in terms of tone and attack. the only thing missing for me is something to breakup the pounding, something more guitar noodly as sort of a break/bridge in those songs (thats what id do if they were my band). set that driving foundation, then take the song somewhere else with some interesting/dissonant guitar riffs (single note/lots of movement), maybe have the bass/drums still kinda thumping underneath. you also need some kick ass pissed off angry vocals over them to bring it all together.
those riffs are solid tho, throw some kurt ballou stuff in there and youve got something.
Oh man... I keep forgetting not everyone in this thread is from Western Pennsylvania. You're not very far off.
Beer cheese is basically cheddar cheese melted down with beer in it to make it a sauce (vs. nacho cheese which is cheddar melted down with milk and water)
Chipped chopped ham is the cheapest ham money can buy, you get it "chipped" or "chopped" which means sliced as thin as humanly possible, then you cook it up in a vat of Heinz ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, worchestershire sauce, and butter. Dont know about Laz but I this sh1t was a regular staple in my house growing up, and its a Steelers tailgating classic.

My grandpa used to get this stuff called ham salad? I think. It was like tuna salad but with ham and other things. Probably pretty close to what you are talking about.
It was 1500 a couple weeks ago.
Now wait a couple more weeks and when its under a grand, buy it. Hell offer the guy, $900 because it'll be $100 for labor just picking it up. That's an awesome cab. And an electric cab of that monstrosity under a grand is a steal.
FIVE GUYS!!! An entire conversation about them and no one even mentions the fries?!!? Those delicious fries that coat the paper bag in grease by the time you walk a block home. I've had the fries break through the bag, good thing the plate they were going on was under the bag.
No no no, this is PA BBQ done right, I even named my pet pot bellied pig after this place. No sauce though just smoked perfectly and a hit of sweet relish.

Well, I figured out what I need to do to the RAT to increase bass response, so rather than ship it to someone I'm going to it myself. Its mostly cap swaps, I have everything I need already in my box-o-electronic-guts. Should be a fun weekend project.
The BBQ selections in Pittsburgh are way fewer than what I had in Maryland, but there are definitely a few choice selections. Helps that the owner is from the Carolinas: Link Removed

Love them fries! I just never order more than the "smallest" size because they put so fuggin' many in there! When I was touring this past summer I had to stop at every Five Guys I cam across. Definitely not cost effective or healthy, but definitely tasty.
I need to solder in that new mini humbucker I got for my 72 tele with the strat neck this weekend. Sick of looking at it with no strings on it just waiting for me to slap the pickup in and a set of new strings on.

Oh man, that place sounds good. I love it when places have a vinegar based sauce. Pulled pork and vinegar sauce is heaven on earth as far as I am concerned.
There is a local BBQ place that has 6 regional style sauces. And the best one is South Carolina mustard style, mustard and vinegar, so good on pulled pork, brisket, and french fries, actually great on their smoked tuna steak too.

I just listened to all four tracks for the first time. I think they work just fine as a cohesive unit, the tones, tempo and riffs all seem like they came from the same band at the same time.
I'm hard pressed to pick a favorite or a weak spot, which is good. I really like all of the tracks, some of it reminds me of Doomriders, some of it Wolverine Blues-era Entombed. I'd definitely listen to this band.
That being said, there's a big missing piece that could have a huge impact on the final product and that's vocals. I kept hearing LG Petrov in my head singing over the track, so I guess that's the initial vibe I was getting, but I think a singer that could straddle the line between harsh screaming and melodic singing would really tie the whole project together. Again, Nate Newton of Doomriders/Converge comes to mind.
Musically the tracks didn't feel like a whole lot was missing. I think occasional double bass would be cool, I think there's a spot in the last track where it could be used to good effect. I liked the little bit of guitar harmonies/melodic lines that I heard in the first or second track. I think more of that, and/or a second guitar track playing weird noise/melodic stuff like Torche was doing for a while would add some interesting atmosphere.
There's a few parts with big, open chords. Those spots might be good places for effects and/or samples. I liked the use of feedback, reminded me of Cavity, which is always a plus.
Anyway, that's what I would do, it's easy to be an armchair composer, much more difficult to pull it off by yourself. So kudos to you, man. The tracks sound really killer and I think it's a really solid base for a first EP/demo type thing.
