you also can decrease the internal trimmer to reduce the gain range, then you can push the gain up a bit before it gets over clipped. just some other ideas to throw your way

The Vulcan is almost done! The tremolo works and the fuzz doesn't sound like wet farts anymore and he still has to change a few caps for it, so it'll only get better. It'll be staying stock, he says it very responsive to the tone controls. Can't wait to have it back.

So check this out. I told you guys we are going to write and record a song for a locally shot and produced zombie apocalypse movie? Well it's our friend's brother who is in charge of the whole thing, but our friend is doing the score for the movie. Check out the pedals he assimilated for the sole purpose of making creepy noises for a zombie movie. I guess he still has a few more on the way lol.

Warmer and deeper jazz bass would be killer. I regret not buying a Fender jazz back in PA, not sure what model but it was MIJ, had no pickguard, and had Bartolini's(probably not the stock pickups) in it but it was passive, oh man the nicest sounding Jazz bass I ever played IMHO, that's how I would describe the tone of it, deeper and warmer, damn thing was gone the next time I went back to the shop.

I need some input, fellas. The MGR that has that SVT 215e got back to me. It's not exactly a slam dunk purchasing decision, so I'm mulling it over a bit. I'd appreciate your thoughts. Here's their narrative description of it:

"I just tested out the 215. It sounds clean and big. Except at high volume and low frequencies the speakers break up a little and "fart out" some. I played a Fender American P Bass V 5 string, and the low B didn't respond great at a very high volume. I may have over pushed the rating on the cab? The cab is pretty beat up cosmetically."

I'll post the pics they sent me in a sec.

Any specific thoughts on the farting out bit? Is it something that could get worse? I don't usually go down to B, usually C at the lowest and even that's uncommon. I'm mostly in E standard or drop D. They have it listed at $379 currently and I asked if they'd take $300 and they said yes. Think it's worth that?

I'd still have a road trip on my hands, too, four hours each way. Anywho, I'm on the fence. Not sure yet if this is a good value and worth the trek. A consideration is that used 215s are hard for me to find locally.

Of course, if I make the trip I could take a pit stop at Five Guys along the way; we don't have 'em around here. :bassist:
