Well, lowdownthump, decided to take the plunge, and get the white SUB,before someone else bought it? Should be on the brown truck today? Hopefully, they will clean up some,of the grimy finger smudges?View attachment 2934199
Hope it works out. Looks good.
Passive MusicMans are not the norm but they are so awesome.
If I could handle that neck I would have bought it myself .

Do you mean the scratches? I had them send pictures,of the back of neck,I hesitated, but was wanting the white SUB. I know someone that has a passive, but it is the wine/burgundy finish.

No the neck size. Reason I sold my SUB was neck is too big for my hands and body is too big. Just too uncomfortable for me. It was close to if not 11 lbs . No worries MusicMan made the Caprice line and it’s my favorite bass ever!!
Enjoy that white SUB. My favorite color in the SUB USA line.

you're not the first person I've heard say that they love EBMM but the StingRay neck is too wide so they went with the Caprice. Personally, I couldn't imagine anything narrower, I started out on a Fender Jazz and could never get comfortable playing until I discovered StingRays.

And I feel my SUBs have all been a touch beefier than standard Rays I like them...but can see how they could be too bully for fans of there preferences...my 3 favourite necks are Bongo, SUB, Stingray....all quite similar.

Just drove down from DC to Florida today. Stopped into the Gainesville GC. They have a great example of a recent Classic Sabre. All black / rosewood / figures maple gloss neck and headstock . That was a very easy for me to play . Hard for me to leave without it.

I had never tried a MusicMan at all I play a Geddy Lee Jazz and an American Special Precision. Yes the SUB has a thick neck...yes it is a bit difficult to play given my smallish hands...but I know I will adapt and besides....it just friggin growls and sounds like nothing else I have ever played......:bassist::bassist:
Yes, yes and yes!

They are great basses...and such great gig tools ....that body finish takes a beating and I find both the passive and the 2band sit great in a live mix. Love them with flats as well.

Just received the white SUB,from GC,and cleaned it and put tort pick guard on,after taking off

the original pick guard, that someone had painted black. Setup pretty much way I like. NBD,with Roadrunner hard shell case. Only one noticeable nick, down by the bridge. Serial number starts, with 01?
