I am enjoying these videos you are hipping us to as Africa and Madagascar are such unique places with music to match.
I am reminded of my college daze, late 70's when there was a piano prodigy from Zambia who was also a master percussionist. He had grown up in a village of drum and percussion makers and drummers. Because of that and my minor instrument being percussion there was an African percussion lab that was a deep introduction to those instruments and rhythms. I often wonder what he is up to considering the constant turmoil in that region.

Well, it's music.
It has a rhythm and a bass (albeit synthbass) line.
I think that it's good to listen to everything.

This guy is incredible on piano. I think that he was influenced a lot by Herbie Hancock's early sixties work (more evident in other songs of his).
Then brings in the Ethiopian element.
I haven't heard anything about him for a few years.
