...in my little studio. I looked for any performance shots, but I guess our shows are just too mesmerizing to photographers ;)

Metro RS-4, alder (natural finish), morado fretboard, 2005.

Thanks..... it was a crazy gig.
Sometimes we've seen audience members doing the crowd surfing thing.
But this time I was being grabbed, taken from the stage and put in the air as well. I must admit, the feeling is absolutely great :)

It was in a small club type venue and I did not use a wireless device this time. Luckily our singer reacted very well and grabbed my cord!
Nothing and nobody was being damaged or hurt:)

Usually I am using a Line6 Relay30 wireless device, which works really well.

the G30 or G50 is my #1 choice ATM.

I use a Shure ULXS system. The reason is, its frequency response specs go all the way down to 25Hz, where many wireless systems only go down to about 50-100Hz. I feel that allows it to do a better job down low, and especially for my case, since I mostly play 5 string basses.

I see the Line6 specs are even better, so moot point if you're looking at those.

I tried the X2 stuff a while ago, and while it did sound great, I had to give up on it because the body pack chewed batteries so fast. I thought I read also where they said you couldn't use rechargeable batteries with it... is that true or not? The other thing that bothered me a lot was the battery door on the body pack just really felt like it wouldn't last, and you put that together with a lot of battery swaps, and it caused me concern.

I can get by with one battery per 3 hour gig, as long as I power down between sets. I believe rechargeables are okay, but won't last as long.

The battery pack and strap clip do seem flimsy. The default bass-to-transmitter cable made by Hosa is definitely flimsy... mine didn't last long... and the replacement made by Whirlwind (I think) is spendy. Finally, the front panel has a clear plastic cover, and mine warped a bit when I played an outdoor summer gig in direct sun.

Despite the negatives, I think it's a fine unit. Fidelity is outstanding and I've never lost reception even when wandering around at larger bars. To me, these are the most important factors.

I use Maha Energy PowerEX 9V batteries (9.6V) with my X2 and have no problems.

I know this is a bit off topic, and I hope it's ok, but I just have one last question on the wireless thing...

Anybody with a Line 6 Relay Gxx wireless system, have you used rechargeable AA's with those? I find that rechargeable batteries are typically just a bit larger than regular Alkaline batteries, and was wondering if that had been an issue.
