Sadowsky Chambered Bodies

Without a doubt I hear and feel a distinctive difference in the resonance in my 2 chambered Sadowsky's compared to the non chambered ones I have had in the past. I love them ! :bassist:

Are your comparison basses spec'd the same and the same weight? You will definitely hear a weight difference in resonance between a heavier and ligher instrument.

Again, not saying you aren't hearing what you are hearing, but rather that you are attributing it to the wrong design factor.

a scientific take on it (just a theory mind you); chambering the body in the body wing reduces the Weight to stiffness ratio of the vibrating instrument (as the strings don't add much tension on the areas people tend to chamber), which in general will give a fuller sound (think the difference between Wenge and Ovangkol, Wenge gives you more of that growl/zing, while Ovangkol is fuller, to my ears ofc, and the main difference between the two woods is the stiffness to weight ratio, Ovangkol being quite a bit stiffer, and at the same time a tad lighter). This is ofc just an idea I have based on general tendencies in the tonal attributes of certain wood types and mechanical data available, not by any means tested in a lab ;) allthough I intend to do that some day xD
