Fender's custom shop is cnc made as well.
Yeah, and a typical CNCed Fender CS costs half of of a Sadowsky NYC... Why? Its not that CNC is bad, its a question of justification for cost. Btw, I think Fender CS is overpriced too.
now THAT is the truth...
+1
But, I haven't had the money to spend on it yet, Talkbass did make me buy other stuff...
I've seen some Fender custom shop basses that were double what some Sadowsky models cost.
What does that have to do with anything!? Those Fenders are overpriced too, period! But you can get a nice american CS bass for around 2k, new (every bit the quality of the big "S"). Considering the tone of the original post, expect some opinions to the contrary, from some.
Gold medal to Roger for figuring out a way to charge $4500.00 for a CNCed solid body jazz bass!![]()
yup. enjoy the show!

You didn't say anything about Fender, when you were nominating Roger for his award.

This is a thread about Sadowsky, not Fender... OK, Fenders can be way overpriced too! Happy?
For the record, EBMM has figured out a way to make basses that are every bit the quality of Sadowsky, Lakland, etc, for a fraction of the cost., so lets mention that too.
You're just jealous 'cause no other bass builder can generate this kind of responce
