Sadowsky metroline question.

Hi all,

recently got a pj metroline 5 and noticed something odd. The bridge pickups pole pieces for the A and D strings only are raised above the pickup cover. The other pole pieces for the J bridge pickup and the P pickup are all flush with the cover.

is this normal? I feel like the A and D strings are louder than the others because of this.

any advice is appreciated.

I believe they are raised to match the arc of the fingerboard. I have the same on my NYC and my German Metroline WL5.
Not all pickups do this. My 2nd metroline has soap bars and is not radiused. If you put in a set of pups with flat poles you I think you may hear the A and D softer than the rest. Might be worth a look. Check YouTube there should be tons of vids on this! Good luck!

There isn't much on Google about this;

But Sadowsky pickups are modeled after DiMarzio Ultra Jazz to Rogers Specs
and by picture raised A & D is correct
