Sadowsky SA-200-Give me strength.

He's raised the starting bid 4 times since the auction started. It usually works the other way. No bids, I'll just raise the price! 
As much as I love the sound of this amp, I've been to the Sadowsky shop a dozen times and played through it (hell, it would make a Squire sound awesome...sorry Squire fans, no disrespect intended), before I bid $3700 to over $4000 for it (I'm happy with my Aggie DB750) I'd rather spend that money and order another bass from Roger & co. My good friend is weeks away from taking delivery on his new Vintage NYC with Will Lee neck dimensions, so I'm halfway there already. Ha!

Everytime I visit the Sadowsky shop and play through this rig I agree it's one of the best set-ups I've ever played...
I ususally have to try the bass I'm checking out through one of the other rigs because the Sadowsky makes everything sound fantastic....

I just cancelled my eBay account after I noticed the new user agreement required I agree to allow eBay to spam my home telephone with advertisements, and to allow eBay to sell my telephone number to other advertisers to do the same thing. Seems to me they were already getting my money from listing fees and commissions. Screw 'em! Those buzzards stepped over the line with greed.

I don't get why some folks have no problem spending thousands on a bass but balk at spending it on an amp and cab. If you're going to spend that much on a bass, might as well go for the gusto with the amp, too.
When I bought my Aggie DB750 and DB410, I spent over $3000 on it. I've since switched to a 2X12 cab, but I like the sound of the Aggie amp. Is the Sadowsky nicer? Yes, but again, I'd rather have another Sadowsky bass than have my amp sound marginally better for the same money. Everyone doesn't have JimmyM cash to throw around.

Well, like a lot of things, there is a law of diminishing returns effect happening with gear. Once you get to a certain price and quality point on an instrument or amp, the actual utility of the piece doesn't increase by much. In other words, does the Sadowsky noticeably perform better than a Crate? You betcha! Will it matter at the end of the day? Most definitely! Does it perform better than an SVT or Mesa? Perhaps. Will it matter at the end of the day? Most likely not.
Then again, I've never played the SA-200.
