obviously...Sam is a monster player!
but I was only a little curious about the mic...that makes no difference: the difference is the head and the fingers and the soul of Sam Jones, I know.

I love Sam Jones. There was a version of Satin Doll with Oscar, Sam and Durham that got removed from youtube. It was an amazing version of a song that I had lost love for. Hearing those cats rekindled it.

After many, many years, I have recently (re)discovered Somethin' Else by Cannonball (although I hear Miles somewhat 'took over' the recording sessions). Man. Mm. Sam Jones. What a sound!
